The 7th edition of the Student Film Festival in Iran has announced winners of the official competition sections.
The festival's closing ceremony was recently held at the University of Sistan and Balouchestan in the southeastern Iranian city of Zahedan.
Ali Azizi won the special award for his animation and the best film script award went to Mohammad Sabouhi.
In short film section, Yousef Kargar received the best film script award and best art and technical achievement award went to Mehrbanou Batebi.
Dornaz Hajiha bagged the best short film award and the best director award for directing 'Marzieh' in the same section.
In animation section, Elham Toroqi won the best film award and the best art and technical achievement award for 'No One'.
best director award of the animation section was presented to Amin Malakouti for 'I'm not Alone'.
In documentary section, Alireza Dehghan’s ‘Owsia' grabbed the best short film and the best director awards.
The best art and technical achievement award went to Pouria Osati and Hanieh Seifian received the best documentary award for 'Father, Mother, Ali, Reza, and I'.
The awarded works were selected from among 59 nominations in the competition sections of ‘Animation’, ‘Short’, ‘Documentary’ and ‘Screenplay’, and a special section titled ‘Addiction Prevention’.
Masoud Soflaei, Mohammad Kiasalar, Mehdi Najjarpisheh, Javad Salmannezhad and Mehdi Rakhshani were the jury members of the event.
The festival is an effort to collect the artistic ideas of the Iranian young students, and to promote the insight and awareness levels, as well as hope for a better future, among the students.
The competition sections included free and special (focus on social harm, especially addiction prevention); there will also be a sideline section on technical training in cinematography.
The University of Sistan and Balouchestan, the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, and the Counter Narcotics Headquarters jointly held the event on February 26-March 1, 2018.
